In this series of posts I offer some of my take aways from my most recent biodynamic certification training.
Today's note: Less is more
Over extending ourselves is built into our modern culture alongside the belief that more = better. In healing spaces this might leak in as a feeling of needing to "wow" a client. Or on the receiving end, the belief that healing needs to be hard or involve big cathartic emotional releases in order to be "working". Excuse my overuse of "" but these really are just ideas, not truths. The body has it's own system of vast intelligence that is in perfect timing with moving towards what is most healthful. So much of healing is truly about moving out of the way and allowing that intelligence to come into the foreground. I like to think of it as an un-doing. The places in which the body is holding are where there is the most energy gathered. When we allow that energy to move and unwind, it returns to nourish the system as a whole.
